Barking like Beckham

[VIDEO PICK] Multi-millionaire dollar earner David Beckham was a non-factor for the Los Angeles Galaxy during its 3-0 loss to FC Dallas in the MLS semifinal, but he got on the stat sheet by earning a yellow card for going nose-to-nose with referee Jair Marrufo after Marvin Chavez's perfectly legitimate goal.

Beckham apparently thought Chavez was offside. Replays, however, demonstrated that Chavez was onside when David Ferreira hit the pass.

Not shown in the video is that Beckham berated Marrufo even after getting cautioned.

This clip needs to be longer to show the card coming out. It does show Marrufo's composure.

In the MLS, David Beckham is the clear title holder for "Worst Behavior towards Refs", and it's because he is allowed to get away with it. Unfortunately, his behavior is spreading to Landon. Hope Landon cuts it out next season. Frankly, I thought Becks' behavior in the playoffs negatively impacted the Galaxy as a team. Because he seemed to be trying to demonstrate team leadership--as if he were the captain-- and I think it diminished Landon's role. It made Landon sit back and not try to demonstrate his own leadership.

Becks once again shows off his churlish behavior, what a useless acquisition by the Galaxy.
