Longtime U.S. international Tiffeny Milbrett, whose pro career dates back to WUSA, knows better than anyone the problems facing women’s pro soccer, whichdied in the Bay Area — and the West Coast for that matter — on Tuesday when WPS champion FC Gold Pride folded.

“It is so disrespected and completely not valued,” Milbrett said ofwomen’s pro leagues. “That’s what is hard to deal with.”

WPS will move ahead with six teams — seven if Chicago can get funded squared away in the next month.

“This is thefirst team I’ve been on that I enjoyed every single player,” added Milbrett. “Every single player was amazing as a person.”
