'King Midas' strikes again

[MEXICO] Monterrey coach Victor Manuel Vucetich lived up to his "King Midas" reputation when the Rayados beat Santos, 3-0, in the second leg of the Mexican league final on Sunday to take the Apertura 2010 crown. Vucetich has now won five Mexican first division titles and two second division crowns.

Monterrey’s 5-3 aggregate win earned it its second title in the three seasons, both under Vucetich, who also won first division crowns with Pachuca (2003), Tecos (1994), Leon (1992).

Chilean Humberto Suazo, who also scored in the first leg, struck twice in second leg – his 28th and 85th minute goals sandwiching Argentine defender Jose Maria Basanta’s goal.

Santos coach Ruben Omar Romano was on the losing end of a final for the fourth time. Last season, his Santos fell in a penalty kick shootout to Toluca.
