The expansion Portland Timbers have sold more than 10,000 season tickets for the 2011 Major League Soccer season and are closing in on their cap of 12,000 to allow room for some same-day ticket sales. Only 700 season tickets are left for the Timbers Army sections.

The Timbers have sold out 33 difference sections, and all 23 luxury suites have been sold on a multi-year basis.

“We are very pleased with how we are tracking on ticket sales,” said Timbers president Merritt Paulson. “The momentum we are seeing further demonstrates the appetite for soccer in Soccer City, USA.”
