[MEXICO] Former Chicago Fire defender Wilman Conde scored in his debut for Mexican club Atlas in its 5-0 win over Morelia on the opening day of the Torneo Clausura.

The other MLS player to move to Mexico this winter and play on Saturday was Venezuelan Giancarlo Maldonado, who started for Atlante, which fell at Atlas, 2-1. Maldonado played for Chivas USA last season.

U.S. World Cup defender Jonathan Bornstein (out with a thigh injury) did not suit up for Tigres in its 2-2 tie at Queretaro.

The only American to play Saturday was Sonny Gu adarrama, who came on as a reserve for Atlante.

On Sunday, Edgar Castillo debuted for Puebla, playing the first 45 minutes in its 1-1 tie with Guadalajara, and Herculez Gomez came on for the last 22 minutes of Pachuca's 2-0 win over Club America.
