Dunga, the coach of Brazil's disappointing 2010 World Cup team, ignored calls by Pele and Brazilian fans and media to take 18-year-old Santos star Neymar to South Africa.
Now Neymar, who turns 19 next month, is at least playing at the South American Under-20 World Cup qualifying tournament, which also promises Olympic berths to the top two finishers.
Neymar scored four goals in Brazil's operner, a 4-2 win over Paraguay. He scored two goals in the first half and added two more in the second while dominating the entire game.
He scored on a penalty kick, a 15-yard drive, a header and a 15-yard chip. Brazil had two players ejected in the second half.
