Paul the Octopus, who correctly predicted the outcome of each of Germany’s 2010 World Cup matches and the 2010 final between Spain and the Netherlands, will have his own memorial corner unveiled on Thursday at the Sea Life aquarium, where he lived in Oberhausen, Germany.

The centerpiece of “Paul’s Corner" will be the oracle’s urn. He died at the age of 2 1/2 in October, three months after being the center of international attention when his picks -- done by choosing a mussel from two transparent boxes adorned with the teams’ flags -- were also broadcast on live television in Germany and across parts of Europe.

After the World Cup and before his death, Paul was cast in a commercial for a German supermarket and promoted England’s bid for the 2018 World Cup. An American documentary about Paul is being produced.
