Chivas USA forward Victor Estupinan, a 22-year-old Ecuadoran, said he can be a 30-goal scorer in his debut MLS season. The most goals ever scored in one MLS season were 27 by Roy Lassiter in the league's inaugural 1996 season.

“In Ecuador, I was one of the top scorers every year,” he said. “I am really anxious to score 25 to 30 goals and much more. I have lots of confidence in myself that it’s going to go well for me [at Chivas USA] and that I can debut with goals.”

The former Liga de Quito striker was one of the revelations of the 2011 Player Combine in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.m and Coach Robin Fraser made Estupinan the 14th overall pick.

Estupinan is a former Under-20 national team forward who joined Liga de Quito back in 2004 at the age of 16 and worked his way onto the first team in 2007.
