The social networking site Facebook helped lead police to the main suspect in the shooting of the Paraguayan forward Salvador Cabanas, according to reports in the Mexican media.
Cabanas, who played for Club America, was shot in the head in the bathroom of a bar in Mexico City on Jan. 25, 2010. Cabanas survived but a bullet remains lodged in his head. Police knew that the suspect, Jose Jorge Balderas Garza, was in a relationship with Colombian model, Juliana Sossa.
Sossa's Facebook profile gave her location as Lomas de Chapultepec, Mexico City. On Tuesday, police moved into the area and found Sossa and Balderas in the house they shared. Both were arrested, along with five other suspects.
