[TELEVISION WATCH] Former Jamaican international Robbie Earle, fired from his job as a color analyst for British broadcaster ITV during the 2010 World Cup for the unauthorized distribution of tickets, has been hired as the analyst on the local television broadcasts of MLS expansion team Portland.

Earle acquired 40 tickets for the Netherlands-Denmark game, and they ended up in the hands of a group of Dutch female supporters who were ejected by FIFA at halftime for an ambush marketing campaign conducted by Dutch brewery Bavaria.

The English-born Earle has most recently been working as a pundit for ESPN.

Also calling the action for the Timbers on TV will be play-by-play broadcaster John Strong.

The Timbers' games will air on ROOT Sports (formerly known as FSN Northwest) and KPTV FOX 12.
