Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli‘s departure from his team’s Europa League game against Dynamo Kiev on Thursday has been attributed to a grass allergy.
TheItalian was rubbing his eyes while leaving the field in the 53rd minute of his team’s 2-0 loss in Ukraine. He is reportedly sensitive to certain types of grass.
“Mario had an allergy — Idon’t know what. His face was swollen — I don’t know why,” Man City coach Roberto Mancini said. “He wanted to play in the second half but he had this problem 10seconds before coming out.”
