Stuart Holden's knee injury will not only keep him out of the 2011 Gold Cup in the United States, but it will keep him from returning to Houston, where he grew up and played with the Dynamo.
Plans for Bolton Wanderers to play the Dynamo at Robertson Stadium this summer in the Dynamo Charities Cup are likely to be scrapped. Holden could be out for as long as six months.
"We're sorry to see Stuart suffered the injury," Dynamo president Chris Canetti said. "We're awaiting official confirmation from the club as to how long the injury will [keep Holden out]. Should the report of him being out six months be validated by the club, then it's likely that we will not move forward with the match. We have other English Premier clubs that we're having conversations with."
