[AMERICANS ABROAD] Oguchi Onyewu's FC Twente was ousted from the Europa League when it fell to Villarreal, 3-1, in the second leg of their quarterfinal series and went out 8-2 on aggregate. New Jersey-born Giuseppe Rossi had the first Villarreal goal to give him 32 goals in all competitions this season and extend his scoring streak in the Europa League to five games.

With Villarreal ahead 5-1 after the first leg, Twente all but conceded the series and is concentrating instead on the defense of its Dutch league title.

It leads PSV by two points with four games to play.

Villarreal is joined by three Portuguese teams -- Benfica, Braga and FC Porto -- in the semifinals.
