Former New England and U.S. forward Taylor Twellman has found a new career as a television commentator, and a personal cause as well.

The last in a series of severeconcussions, suffered in a collision with goalkeeper Steve Cronin three years ago, forced Twellman into premature retirement last year. He’s among many prinicipals spearheading moreaccountability from teams, leagues and coaches regarding proper diagnosis and treatment for head injuries suffered by athletes.

Of his own attempts to play through the pain and fuzziness heexperienced before calling it quits, he says, “And you’re miserable. I mean, it’s like someone’s in your head, squeezing your brain as hard as it can. That’s the worst feeling in theworld.”
