New Jersey-born Giuseppe Rossi, who moved to Italy at the age of 12 to pursue his soccer dream, will demand a transfer fee of at least $43 million, according to his agent.
The 24-year-old who opted to represent Italy rather than the USA has scored 18 La Liga and 11 Europa League goals for Villarreal this season.
"The way things are today, it's difficult to see a similar 24-year-old striker going for less than 30 million euros," his agent Federico Pastorello told reporters in Milan on Wednesday.
"Giuseppe signed a new contract with Villarreal a few months ago, they have a very clear project. There is a great opportunity there and unless a top club comes in for him, he'll stay there."
