* The Galaxy's Landon Donovan scored in Wednesday's 1-1 tie with Philadelphia and struck twice in Saturday's 4-1 win over Sporting Kansas City to up his season total to seven goals and take the league scoring lead. Donovan won the Golden Boot in 2008 with 20 strikes.

* San Jose Chris Wondowloski, last season's leading scorer with 18 goals, scored his fifth of the season in the Quakes' 3-0 win against Columbus.

* Justin Braun joined the group of 15 players with three goals by hitting a hat trick in Chivas USA's 3-2 win over the Red Bulls, whose Thierry Henry scored his fifth goal of the season.
