Marrufo and Toledo picked for Concacaf championship

[GOLD CUP] Americans Jair Marrufo and Baldomero Toledo are among the referees named to officiate at the 2011 Gold Cup, which starts June 5.

The 15 referees and 15 assistant referees (including American Charles Morgante) must pass a fitness test to be conducted in Dallas May 30-June 4 during the Concacaf Elite Referee Course.

Ten additional referees and 10 assistant referees (among them American Mark Sean Hurd) will also participate in the Elite Course in preparation for the upcoming 2011-12 Champions League and World Cup Qualifying, but not the Gold Cup.

    Whose the knucklehead who selected Baldomero "RedCard" Toledo, OMG! Personally I like the ref who did the LA Galaxy game v NY Redbulls,, he did a good job in that game

    Two of the most inconsistent refs in the MLS. Marrufo can't set up a wall 10 yards away from the ball and doesn't believe in encroachment on free kicks while fouls from the rear are not always carded as mandated in the rulebook.
