[HOMEGROWN WATCH] The pace of integration of homegrown players has slowed. On a weekend when D.C. United and Vancouver -- the clubs who have used the most homegrown players -- were idle, Juan Agudelo (New York) and Ruben Luna (FC Dallas) were the lone homegrown players to see action in MLS.

With Thierry Henry sidelined, Agudelo started for New York in its 2-2 tie at Houston, and Luna came on for the last quarter of an hour in FCD's 0-0 tie with Real Salt Lake .

Only four other homegrown players made the game-day squads over the weekend: Matt Kassel (New York), Tyler Deric (Houston), Oscar Cordon (Toronto FC) and Moises Hernandez (FC Dallas).

GOLD CUP-BOUND. Agudelo is the lone homegrown player who will represent his country at the Gold Cup.

PFEFFER SIDELINED. Zach Pfeffer, the Philadelphia Union’s 16-year-old midfielder, is sidelined after undergoing surgery to have his appendix removed.
