[AMERICANS ABROAD] Towering American defender Jide Ogunbiyi was named the player of the year at Danish second division club Viborg.

The 6-foot-4 Ogunbiyi completed his first full pro season at the club after signing as an amateur in the middle of the 2010-11 season.

He had five goals for Viborg, which finished in a four-way tie for 12th place.

Ogunbiyi, who hails from Pennsylvania, was drafted by MLS's New York Red Bulls out of Santa Clara University.
