FIFA general secretary Jerome Valcke confirmed that Honduran Alfredo Hawit was the legitimate acting president ofConcacaf but said it was time for the infighting to end in the region.

Following Jack Warner‘s suspension as president, Lisle Austin was named interim president but he was in turn suspended by the Concacaf executive committee after he tried to fire general secretary ChuckBlazer, whose report to FIFA led to Warner’s suspension.

“We believe it is important that as Acting President,” Valcke wrote Hawit, “but also the Concacaf Executive Committee andall relevant Concacaf bodies, now focus on bringing back unity to Concacaf. It goes without saying that FIFA is at your and Concacaf’s disposal should you need any assistance or advice.”

Austin tried to regain power by going to the Bahamian courts to seek an injunction, but Concacaf lawyer John Collins said the move breached Concacaf and FIFAstatutes and would lead to further sanction if he did not cease.
