[GENERATION ADIDAS CUP] After winning the Development Academy's Under-15/16 Championship at Finals Week, the Los Angeles won its second title in July when it beat FC Dallas, 2-0, to win the Generation adidas Cup for MLS under-17 academy teams.

Sebastian Velasquez and former U.S. under-17 international Mario Rodriguez scored for the Galaxy, who won the tournament in which teams played five games in seven days,

In goal for FC Dallas was Richard Sanchez, who had just won the Under-17 World Cup for Mexico.

In a U-15 MLS academy tournament, the New York Red Bulls beat Chivas USA, 3-2.
