* Landon Donovan scored twice amd notched an assist in Los Angeles' 4-0 win over Vancouver to move into a tie atop the scorers' table with Thierry Henry, who spent the weekend playing for the Red Bulls in Arsenal's Emirates Cup.
* Portland's Jack Jewsbury scored his sixth goal of the season, to go with six assists, in the Timbers' 2-2 tie with Toronto FC.
* It was one of the higher-scoring weekends of the season, with 22 goals in eight games for a 2.75 average. MLS's leaguewide goals-per-game average so far this season is 2.44. The 2010 season ended with an all-time low 2.46 goals per game.
