[AMERICANS ABROAD] Maurice Edu's cross set up a goal to give Glasgow Rangers a 1-0 lead in the second-leg game, but Rangers had two players sent off and eventually gave up a tying goal to Malmo in the 80th minute that resulted in the Scottish champion being knocked out of the UEFA Champions League 2-1 on aggregate in the third qualifying round stage after a 1-1 tie in Sweden on Wednesday.

The Rangers' goal on a cross from Edu to Nikica Jelavic in the 24th minutes came six minutes after Steven Whittaker was sent off.

Algerian Madjid Bougherra exited in the 66th minute, leaving Rangers with nine men, and Malmo got the equalizer it needed from Jiloan Hamad in the 80th minute.
