[UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE] Despite missing a slew of chances, Bayern Munich moved closer to assuring qualification for the UEFA Champions League when it beat FC Zurich, 2-0, at home in the first leg of their qualifying series. Arjen Robben scored one goal and set up Bastian Schweinsteiger for the other.

The only team to lose at home was FC Copenhagen, a 3-1 loser to Viktoria Plzen of the Czech Republic.
