Astudillo takes medical leave of absence

[BUFFALO MEN] Buffalo men’s coach John Astudillo, who has a record of 190-173-35 in his 22 seasons with the Bulls, will be taking a medical leave of absence from the sidelines this fall, and associate head coach Dave Hesch has taken over as interim coach.

Astudillo, who has  the most wins of any coach in Bulls’ history, is expected to return to his helm at the conclusion of the fall season.

The Bulls, who play in the Mid-American Conference, will open the 2011 season on Friday with a game at St. Bonaventure.
