[GEORGETOWN-STANFORD] Stanford, No. 2 in the new Soccer America rankings, got two goals from Lindsay Taylor -- the first on a chip in the 2nd minute and second on a 30-yard scorcher -- in the first half and two from Sydney Payne in the second half and beat No. 13 Georgetown, 4-1, on Monday in a game moved from Sunday because the Hoyas' field was saturated by Hurricane Irene.

After Taylor put the Cardinal ahead 2-0 at the half with her third and fourth goals of the season, Payne, a sophomore, had the first multi-goal performance of her collegiate career.

She scored her first goal in the 60th minute after Chioma Ubogagu fed her for a breakaway.

Georgetown reduced the deficit to 3-1 on a by Samantha Baker in the 79th minute, but Payne scored on a rebound to put the game away in the 80th minute.

Stanford returns home to play Northwestern on Sunday.
