ETSU makes debut in national rankings

[TOP 25 SPOTLIGHT] Two tough wins on the road improved East Tennessee State's record to 3-0-0 and propelled the Bucs into the Soccer America Men's Top 25 rankings for the first time.

Junior Alesi Osorio's goal with 43 seconds remaining in overtime gave ETSU a 1-0 win at UNC Greensboro for its first win over a Top 25 program.

On Sunday, the Bucs defeated Marshall, 2-0, in what ETSU coach Scott Calabrese called the team’s “best performance to date."

Irish goalkeeper Ryan Coulter made nine saves and David Geno and Aaron Schoenfeld scored to give ETSU the win in a game marred by rain and wind.

ETSU won eight of its last nine matches en route last year's Atlantic Sun tournament title and a berth in the NCAA Tournament in only the program's third season.

Until the launch this fall of Nebraska-Omaha, ETSU was the youngest Division I men's program in the country.
