[JAMES MADISON] David Lombardo, the only coach in the history of the James Madison women's program, has been given a contract extension through the 2014 season.
Lombardo has guided the Dukes to 10 NCAA Tournament appearances, including three in the past four seasons, and the 2010 CAA championship, the third in the program's history.
"I'm excited and grateful that the administration continues to have the faith and trust that we're doing the right things in the program," said Lombardo, wh
o ranks sixth among the winningest active coaches in NCAA Division I.
Lombardo has a record of 266-164-31 in 22 years at JMU and a career record of 344-199-39.
