Real Madrid says its revenue figures for the 2010-11 are "the biggest sum of any sporting institution in the world."
The club, which won only the Spanish Cup (Copa del Rey) last season while archrival won La Liga and eliminated Real from the Champions League, says its revenues increased by 8 percent over the 2010-11 season to reach a record figure of nearly half a billion euros ($663 million), for a net gain of $43.6 million over the previous season. The net profit margin was up from $33 million.
Real Madrid also says its net debt dropped from $337.6 million to $234.2 million.
