The Seattle Sounders' Argentine midfielder Mauro Rosales was on a roll -- 12 assists and five goals -- before taken out by foul from D.C. United defender Daniel Woolard late in the Sounders 3-0 win on Saturday in which Rosales made two assists.
Rosales' MRI results came in late Monday and revealed he suffered a small MCL tear in his right knee during. He is expected to miss 2-4 weeks.
An emerging league MVP candidate, Rosales' 12 assists are a club record.
It appears the 30-year-old Argentine will miss at least the next four games: at home vs. CS Herediano (Tuesday), at Vancouver (Saturday), at Comunicaciones (Sept. 27) and at New England (Oct. 1).
