[AROUND THE COUNTRY] Marc Cintron scored two goals to lead Providence to a 2-1 win at West Virginia, the Friars' third straight win in Big East play.

Cintron gave the Friars a 1-0 lead in the 26th minute, but the Mountaineers wasted little time tying the match after the break as Nick Claudio struck a volley from 25 yards out and into the upper right corner for his first career goal in the 47th minute. Cintron clinched the Friars' fourth consecutive win over West Virginia with a right-footed shot from 25 yards in the 87th minute.

“Marc has always been a great setup guy, but tonight he took responsibility on his shoulders and scored two great goals,” Providence coach Chaka Daley said. “He was very good tonight."
