[AROUND THE COUNTRY] Boston University rolled past New Hampshire, 3-0, on Wednesday night to grab sole possession of first place in the America East.

Freshman Dominique Badji scored the game-winner and assisted on the second goal to help the Terriers earn their fourth straight conference victory and improve their record to 5-1-0.

Badji broke the scoreless deadlock in the 33rd minute with help from Peter Mehlert. Early in the second half, he fed Ben Berube, who flew through two defenders and fired toward the right post to grab a 2-0 advantage. Captain Stephen Knox gave the BU offense its season-high third goal of the game in the 81st minute.

UMBC fell to 4-2-0 in the America East after dropping a 3-0 decision earlier in the night to Stony Brook (4-1-1). Regular-season play concludes this weekend.

-- Memphis used a pair of goals from sophomore Mark Sherrod to defeat Central Arkansas, 2-1. His two goals pushed him into a tie for second place on the Tigers' single-season list with 17 goals. He only trails Sean Fraser, who scored 18 in 2001.

-- A goal by Alex Hutchins in the 12th minute gave Wofford a 1-0 victory at Appalachian State, snapping the Mountaineers' 11-game unbeaten streak. The win was the first for the Terriers after five losses in Southern Conference play.

-- Valparaiso tied a program record with its fourth straight shutout and kept pace atop the Horizon League standings as the Crusaders got a goal from Charles Barden in the 59th minute to defeat Loyola (Ill.), 1-0, in Chicago. Junior Kyle Zobeck has played every minute of the 385-minute scoreless stretch in goal.
