Clint Dempsey's goal for Fulham in a 2-0 win over Wigan marked his third of the season and his 36th English Premier League, equaling Brian McBride's record of most goals scored by an American in the EPL.

"I'm happy we got the points today and I'm sure people back home in the States like to see me doing well," said Dempsey. "The good thing is that after losing at home against Everton we've bounced back with a win away today. Now hopefully we can push on.  The funny thing is we've played some good football in the last few weeks and not got the results, whereas today we may not have played our best but we got the points. It's crazy how it works sometimes."

The win over Wigan was just the second victory for Fulham this season.

Dempsey joined Fulham from the New England Revolution in 2007. He was its leading scorer last season with 13 goals. McBride scored his EPL goals for Fulham (2004-08) and Everton (2003).
