[VIDEO PICK] Before Friday's game at the Stade de France, the USA and France had only met twice. Both games took place in 1979, and both games were mismatches: 6-0 and 3-0 French wins. Highlights, courtesy of soccer video historian Dave Brett Wasser, included a crunching tackle by Boris Bandov on Michel Platini, a goal by Roland Wagner (whose international career would be ended in the game when he was injured in the game) and goalie Philippe Bergeroo's flying save to stop a sure goal by Doc Lawson.
