Davies to likely leave MLS, says agent

To the surprise of very few, the MLS career of Charlie Davies appears to be over, at least in the short term.

Agent Lyle Yorks confirmed to the Washington Post Soccer Insider that talks to find a new destination for Davies, who played on loan with D.C. United last season, are in an advanced stage and could be finalized by next week. Davies' rights are owned by French club Sochaux, which signed him in the summer of 2009 after he played two seasons with Hammarby in Sweden. For United, Davies scored 11 goals but he lost a starting place during the season and started sporadically down the stretch as D.C. faded out of the playoff race.

Yorks said, “More than likely Charlie will not return to MLS."
