[AMERICANS ABROAD] Clint Dempsey’s goal gave Fulham a 1-1 tie at Chelsea in their West London derby on Boxing Day. The goal was Dempsey's fourth in his last six EPL games and the seventh of the season.

The result followed Fulham's worst defeat at home in more than 40 years, a 5-0 loss to Manchester United.

Costa Rican Bryan Ruiz eluded Chelsea’s Ashley Cole and crossed to Dempsey, who beat goalkeeper Petr Cech in the 57th minute for just the fifth away goal of the season for Fulham.
