AZ won its rescheduled Dutch Cup match at Ajax with a 3-2 victory thanks to two goals by Siem De Jong and one from Rasmus Elm. American Jozy Altidore came on in the second half for AZ.

The game was played in front of a crowd of 22,800 fans, mostly youth, at the Amsterdam ArenA. AZ had walked off the field in the first half of the first game with Ajax ahead 1-0 after the referee ejected goalie Esteban Alvarado, who kicked a fan who had run on the field.

The Dutch federation first ordered the replay be played behind closed doors but later backed down, allowing children from schools and youth clubs to attend.

AZ and Ajax meet again at the AFAS Stadion in Alkmaar on Sunday when the Eredivisie resumes. AZ is in first place, one point ahead of PSV. Ajax, the defending champion, is in fourth, five points off the pace.
