After Lionel Messi scored his fifth hat trick of the season, in Barcelona's 4-1 win at Malaga, to up his La Liga scoring total to 22, Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo scored two penalty kicks in Real Madrid's 4-1 win over 10-man Athletic Bilbao to remain the Pichichi race leader with 23 goals.

Real Madrid remains five points ahead of Barcelona in the standings.
