FC Dallas U-14s reach quarterfinals in Bolivia

[MUNDIALITO] The FC Dallas under-14 academy team reached the quarterfinals of the 2012 Mundialito 2012, hosted by Bolivian youth club Tahuichi, before falling to eventual champion Nacional of Uruguay, 3-1 on two late goals.

In group play, FCD's big win was a 5-0 victory over Cruz Azul of Mexico thanks to two goals by Jessi Najera and single goals by Martin Salas, Richard Tapia and Bernie ZuaZua. It also beat the Venezuela national team, 1-0, on a goal by Armando Arce. Its lone defeat was to Tahuichi, 2-0.

Nacional beat the Colombian national team in the final. Colombia, Venezuela and Mexico sent national teams to the tournament.
