Onyewu scores twice in Sporting win

[AMERICANS ABROAD] Oguchi Onyewu scored two first-half goals off set pieces to give Sporting Lisbon a 2-0 win over Beira Mar in Portugal's top-level Liga Zon Sagres.

Onyewu, who received a yellow card in the first minute of the game, scored off a free kick in the 18th minute and then off a corner kick in the 27th minute.

He has scored four goals in 12 league games.

The win snapped fourth-place Sporting's five-game winless streak.
