Florida claims first national title

[ODP CHAMPIONSHIPS]Florida followed up a 3-0 victory in the semis with a 3-0 win over Michigan in the championship game to take the 1996 title at the 2012 U.S. Youth Soccer ODP Championships at FC Dallas Stadium in Frisco, Texas. It was Florida's first ever ODP championship. Michigan ended Virginia’s quest to repeat as ODP champions with a 1-0 win in the 1995 boys final.

Morgan Shepard
(Fusion FC), Samuel Vinson (West Pines United) and Mario Da Silva (Parkland Predators) scored to secure the title for Florida, the first ever ODP championship for the state.

Dalton Amez
's blast from about 25 yards was the game winner for Michigan.
