Japan and UAE clinch berths

[OLYMPICS COUNTDOWN] Japan and the United Arab Emirates clinched berths in the Olympic men's soccer tournament with wins on Wednesday. The UAE qualified for the first time when it came back from two goals down to beat Uzbekistan 3-2 in Tashkent and take Group B. Japan beat Bahrain, 2-0, in Tokyo to clinch first place in the Group C.

Oman, Uzbekistan and Syria moved into the Asia playoffs in Vietnam as the second-place teams. The playoff winner will meet Senegal for a place in the London Olympics.
