[AMERICANS ABROAD] Americans Clarence Goodson and Arturo Alvarez scored in winning efforts for Denmark's Broendby and Portugal's Pacos de Ferreira, respectively, but it was an otherwise rough weekend for many Americans in Europe.

Clint Dempsey's Fulham fell at home to Swansea City, 3-0. Bankrupt Rangers' troubles in Scotland continued as it lost at Dundee United, 2-1. Maurice Edu and Alejandro Bedoya started; Carlos Bocanegra was suspended. Timmy Chandler's Nuremberg lost to Wolfsburg, 3-1, at home. No player endured a worst game than Alfredo Morales. He came on in the second half of Hertha Berlin's 6-0 loss to Bayern Munich, committed two fouls on French star Franck Ribery in the penalty area, and both spot kicks were converted for goals.
