[DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY SPOTLIGHT] Sockers FC, the team that produced such international players as Michael Bradley, Jonathan Spector and Will Johnson, is off to a tremendous season in the Development Academy's U-17/18 division. The Chicago club is one of only two undefeated clubs, improving to 5-0-3 with a 7-1 demolition of FC Milwaukee.

Marquette-bound John Pothast, an all-conference under-15/16 DA selection in 2010-11, and Anthony DiNuzzo both had two goals in the win over FC Milwaukee, one of the highlights of the club's Nike Academy Showcase weekend youth tournament.

Other Sockers FC players headed to Division I programs include Jason Lesch (Bradley), Mick Maley (Northwestern) and Patrick Schulz (Marquette).

Sockers FC was a No. 20 seed in the 2010-11 U-17/18 playoffs but did not advance to Finals Week.

It will be tested in its next three games, facing Crew Soccer Academy (5-2-1), Internationals (5-3-0) and Chicago Fire (7-2-0).
