[WEEK 10] Kenny Cooper’s ninth goal of the season in the 78th minute helped overcome a 2-1 deficit and gave the New York Red Bulls a 3-2 win at the Philadelphia Union. The result lifted the streaking Red Bulls into first place in the Eastern Conference and sent the Union, which lost Freddy Adu to a red card in its sixth loss in nine games. Real Salt Lake extended its lead in the Western Conference with a 1-0 victory at the Seattle Sounders. The Houston Dynamo opened BBVA Compass Stadium with a 1-0 win over D.C. United. The Montreal Impact set a Canadian record with a crowd of 60,860 for its 1-1 tie with the Los Angeles Galaxy.
