The New York Red Bulls have charged into first place in the Eastern Conference despite the absence of injured Wilman Conde. The Colombian was in the news
this past weekend, however, as he was arrested on charges of aggravated assault on a police officer.
Conde, who has not played in a month and a half with a groin strain and ankle issues, was arrested early Saturday morning following a disturbance at an apartment in Fort Lee, N.J.
"It will be a club and league matter,” Red Bulls GM Erik Soler said. “I’ll discuss it with the league and figure out how to deal with it.”
Conde was expected to resume training on Wednesday.
