[SUENO MLS 2012]Forward Armando Flores says winning Sueno MLS 2012 -- the nationally televised soccer search -- is only the first step in his dream to become a pro. The next will be to join Chivas USA's academy program. He received an invite after winning the 2012 search.

Like Jorge Flores (now Jorge Villafana), winner of the first contest, Armando Flores hails from Orange County and was discovered at the Chivas USA trials. A 17-year-old forward like Villafana, Flores hopes to follow his footsteps and become a pro.

“It was an amazing feeling when they announced my name,” said Flores.  “I want to follow in Jorge Villafana’s footsteps, and hopefully I’ll become a pro just like him. This is step one to fulfill my dreams.”

Flores scored two goals and an assist in two games at the "Final Event."

“Armando impressed us with his speed, skill, vision, courage to go at players one-on-one, solid passing and finishing,” said MLS's Alfonso Mondelo.
