Greek old-timers make first cut

[EURO 2012 COUNTDOWN] Greece will take one of the oldest teams to Euro 2012 with Panathinaikos midfielder Giorgos Karagounis, AEK Athens forward Nikos Liberopoulos and PAOK goalkeeper Costas Chalkias, all 35 years old or older, in Coach Fernando Santos' preliminary squad of 25 players.

Two players will be cut following a training camp in Austria before the final squad of 23 travels to Poland for the June 8 opener against the co-host Poles.

Greece 25:
Goalkeepers: Costas Chalkias (PAOK), Michalis Sifakis (Aris), Alexis Tzorvas (Palermo/ITA).
Defenders: Avraam Papadopoulos (Olympiakos), Sokratis Papastathopoulos (Werder Bremen/GER), Vassilis Torosidis (Olympiakos), Jose Holebas (Olympiakos), Stelios Malezas (PAOK), Yiannis Maniatis (Olympiakos), Giorgos Tzavellas (Monaco/FRA), Kyriakos Papadopoulos (Schalke 04/GER).
Midfielders: Yiannis Fetfatzidis (Olympiakos), Grigoris Makos (AEK Athens), Costas Katsouranis (Panathinaikos), Giorgos Fotakis (PAOK), Costas Fortounis (Kaiserslautern/GER), Giorgos Karagounis (Panathinaikos), Alexandros Tziolis (Monaco/FRA), Sotiris Ninis (Panathinaikos), Panayiotis Kone (Bologna/ITA).
Forwards: Giorgos Samaras (Celtic/SCO), Dimitris Salpigidis (PAOK), Costas Mitroglou (Olympiakos), Nikos Liberopoulos (AEK Athens), Fanis Gekas (Samsunspor/TUR).
