[W-LEAGUE] Colorado Rush opened the season with impressive road victories over the Vancouver Whitecaps and Victoria Highlanders, winning both games by 1-0 margins thanks to goals by Danica Evans.

Her drive from outside the penalty area earned Rush the win over the 'Caps, and she took advantage of a defensive mistake to finish and earn the win in Victoria.

The Fredericksburg Impact took a pair of games over the weekend as it beat Northern Virginia Majestics, 3-1, and Virginia Beach Piranhas, 2-1. The Impact rallied to beat Virginia Beach thanks to goals by Missy Wycinsky and Nikki Czaplicki in the last three minutes.

The Long Island Rough Riders followed up on their 10-0 win over the New Jersey Rangers with a 7-0 victory over the same opponent on Sunday, while the Charlotte Lady Eagles and Pali Blues are also 2-0-0.

The defending W-League champion Atlanta Silverbacks began their title defense off with a 1-0 win over Central SC thanks to Stacy Balaam’s penalty kick.

Mikaela Howell scored both goals as the D.C. United Women beat the Virginia Beach Piranhas, 2-0.
