Parkhurst's FC Nordsjaelland wins Danish title

[AMERICANS ABROAD] Michael Parkhurst's FC Nordsjaelland won its first Danish league title when it clinched the 2011-12 SAS Ligaen and a berth in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League with a 3-0 win over Horsens. In Sweden, Virginia product Brian Span scored in his debut for Djurgarden in its 1-1 draw at defending champ Helsingborg.

Parkhurst, who is now off to join the USA for its series of friendlies and World Cup qualifiers, is the second American to win the Danish title. Defender Danny Califf won with Aalborg BK in 2008.
